The benefits of access equipment that’s designed for public spaces
LiftPod offers particular benefits for facilities maintenance employers who are focused on ESG performance. Reliable and sustainable, it provides a stable working platform as an alternative to traditional elevation methods. It is designed to support indoor work at height when used in accordance with applicable instructions and requirement.
Designed with operator well-being in mind
LiftPod was specifically designed with long-term operator comfort and ergonomic work practices in mind. Addressing the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) was a primary goal during the design process. Specialised testing and benchmarking was overseen by Dr. Frank Emrich, a digital ergonomics and occupational biomechanics specialist.

The unique design reduces the need to carry, set up and break down elevation equipment. LiftPod can be wheeled on its castors to the point of work with minimal effort. There are no repetitive climbing, balancing and stepping down movements while ascending and descending. Workers can move freely while carrying out tasks and manual lifting and awkward postures may be reduced. Time and motion studies independently observed by TÜV SÜD also confirmed that LiftPod can help improve efficiency.

More reasons to choose LiftPod
LiftPod has an innovative, people-friendly design that doesn’t resemble industrial equipment and fits inconspicuously into modern building interiors, making it a smart choice for height access in public-facing spaces.
Designed as an ergonomic indoor access solution
Did you know that, in Great Britain alone, an estimated 40.1 million working days were lost due to work-related ill health and non-fatal workplace injuries in 2024/25? According to official statistics, musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) were responsible for 7.1 million of these. There were 511,000 new and long-standing cases of MSDs with each sufferer taking around 14 days off work.
Addressing MSD risks was a primary goal for LiftPod’s designers and engineers. Its unique design reduces the need to carry, set up and break down elevation equipment. LiftPod can be rolled easily to the location where it is needed. The operator can simply step into the platform from ground level and raise it to the desired height without having to climb, balance or step down. It allows operators to keep their hands free to carry out tasks and can also help to reduce manual lifting and awkward postures.

LiftPod was tested and benchmarked by Dr. Frank Emrich, a digital ergonomics and occupational biomechanics specialist. (Testing was also witnessed by TÜV SÜD to confirm objectivity.) Dr. Emrich’s tests focused on the Mainz-Dortmund Dose Model (MDD), a standardised method used to quantify cumulative mechanical load on the lumbar spine during physically demanding work. The results showed that with LiftPod, the ‘daily dose’ remained well below the MDD threshold of 5.5 kNh, with an overall result of just 0.6 kNh.

A compact lift suitable for front-of house work and on-site storage
LiftPod is the first Quick Fold Lift developed specifically for soft facilities maintenance. Its folded footprint is roughly the same as that of an office chair (0.6 m x 0.77 m), making it easy to manoeuvre through doorways and into elevators. When unfolded, it fits discreetly into public-facing spaces and has a small working footprint that reduces obstruction during use. That means you can schedule maintenance tasks during normal building activities, helping to reduce the need for after-hours shifts or business closures.

A versatile access solution that’s adjustable and easy to use
LiftPod supports workplace well-being and productivity by allowing the employee to work safely in an enclosed platform that can be easily raised to a comfortable working height. It is designed for single-operator use, reducing the need for two-person tasks.
For maximum versatility, LiftPod comes in two sizes, with maximum platform heights of 1.2 m and 1.5 m allowing maximum working heights of 3.2 m and 3.5 m respectively. The platform height is fully adjustable, eliminating the need to invest in a range of equipment for facilities maintenance work below 3.5 m.
It also carries a weight of up to 150 kg, allowing personnel to lift tools and materials to the point of work with less effort and fewer trips. It is designed to support efficiency by enabling operators to keep both hands free to complete tasks.

An intuitive lift that’s easy to own and operate
LiftPod was developed to support efficiency and productivity in numerous ways. Its non-powered lifting system is smooth, user-friendly and doesn’t require charging. The foldable design and compact footprint mean that it can be stored on the premises, ready for use when needed. Its wheels are designed to roll easily on a wide range of indoor flooring types, including carpets. LiftPod is also designed with no scheduled maintenance, apart from pre-operating checks and other requirements as explained in the operating and safety manual.

A people-friendly alternative to ladders, designed for public spaces
Developed in collaboration with an award-winning industrial design consultancy, LiftPod combines renowned JLG quality with world-leading expertise in usability, aesthetics, reliability and intuitiveness. These qualities have already earned it several design awards.

The innovative design has a tactile, people-friendly appeal that differs from industrial elevation equipment and suits contemporary public environments like shops, offices, hotels and restaurants. Its technology was developed for indoor facilities maintenance staff, helping to address the physical impact of repetitive movements and heavy lifting in their daily work.

In a world increasingly focused on employee health, safety and well-being as part of a broader movement towards greater corporate responsibility, LiftPod offers not just a practical solution but an opportunity to raise standards forever!
